{Background} - Koi was born with two other kits as an exile, opening her eyes for the first time to see a large forest filled with pine and leaves; turning to see her brother and sister right beside her for the first time. As her and her siblings grew older, they started to learn how to roughhouse when playing...however Koi seemed to have issues with her family's way of playing due to a spinal issue from birth. Koi was born with a deformity, causing her tail to split into two and making her spine extremely fragile. When playing with her littermates, she would often be thrown out of the two siblings' brawl; or dragged out by her parents. Koi was never really able to play with her littermates, or...really do anything for that matter due to her spine..Although..she felt fine! She learned to handle her problem, by laying down on her side and taking a short nap when that piercing pain would appear, but it was still a hassle nonetheless.

Koi started to grow somewhat antisocial due to her inability to play with her littermates. Her parents searched for a form of entertainment for the kit, finding a speckled tom cat. They explain the situation with the kit, and the tom later agrees to help. The parents lead the stranger back to their small home, and the stranger gathered the kits to tell a story; in hopes of lifting spirits.

"Wild-eyed, mad-grinning cats milled around every corner. They'd attack without provokation, and their kind chased our families to the edge of the world. Clay masks kept us from infection; those who didn't wear them would often succumb to the sickness and turn on their loved ones. Others were more fortunate; the sickness would kill them before they lost their minds.
It didn't take long before their unnatural strength overwhelmed the peaceful cats. Killed, maimed, or deranged; there was no relief in loss. I stole into the night with my siblings; our hope had long been lost, but our parents, their friends-- they had family that had been gripped by the illness. And, more foolishly, they had hope that they could be cured.
We saw them afterwards, fighting one another and battling for nothing. The light was gone from their eyes; dull, slimy, empty, that's all they were. But powerful, the will of badgers in their muscles. Ears like a fox, speed like a viper, and the mercy of a dead thing. That's all they were, you know. Dead. Bodies walking, yes, but their minds were dead.
Never let a familiar face stop you from seeing a cat's mind, children; that's where the real cat is. A smile means nothing-- it's merely an expression. Thoughts are what make up a cat. Those things had no thoughts. So think, kittens, always think; it's what makes you alive-- and keeps you that way."

As she grew to 6 months, she gained a strange marking across her face, forming a large smile that had a black coloring to it. She had never seen anything like it..although it was familiar. The tom that told her stories mentioned strong cats..maybe this was what she was supposed to look for! The next morning, she confronted her parents, telling them she wanted to find the cats the tom had told them about. Her parents had worried looks on their faces..but agreed to let the kit find these " strong cats " for herself. She left her family, hunting the cats in hopes for training and help with her spine problem. Although her parents weren't too keen on her little adventure, they agreed that it would be good for their daughter to travel, meet new people and eventually overcome her spinal problem. They wished her luck on her departure, hoping that one day Koi would return to them as powerful as ever.
As she reached her adolescent age, she found another group of cats with black markings on their faces and backs. She asked where she could find cats with tattoos similar to hers, and was pointed in the direction of the tribes. Koi later discovers Shadow Tribe, and as soon as she stepped foot into it's boundaries, her tattoo turned into a mix of pink and orange; and The Shadow Spirit gave her the name of Wakasagihime. Her ears twitched at the sound of the name, a warm and excited feeling rushing through her...Wakasagihime...a great name for a new start.

Waka loved the tribes, so many new faces...young and old! So many different types of tattoos and abilities..Fire tribe with their one flaming eye, Water tribe with a single wave resting on their shoulders, Earth tribe with the roots of the earth in between their toes! She later learned of Light tribe, with healers AND poisoners..Air tribe with a different set of wings on their backs with each individual cat, and her own tribe: Shadow tribe, each cat with a spooky and unique second smile! She started to wander around, meeting cats from every kind of tribe and learning their different abilities...until it hit her. She...She didn't know how to use her own! It was a real kick to the face, especially since she was supposed to get a mentor of some sort...she had figured it was because she was a former loner, and the tribes must not have trusted her just yet to get a mentor of her own...so she waited.
As time moved on, she reached 12 moons of age and a pumpkin-colored tattoo...but still no mentor nor abilities. Waka gave up on receiving an official mentor, and just decided to ask around instead! She ran into a few different cats...however none of them were able to describe how to use their abilities, even those from her own tribe! She started to get irritated, shutting her eyes tightly. Why couldn't she figure out her abilities?? Other tribers were barely any help..especially since she was a secondary triber!! What was so scary about her?? The darkness started to flicker orange before her eyes shot open, throwing herself backwards. What was that? Was that her tattoo all glowy-like just like the others? She was on the right trail...she just needed to master it...eventually.......

As Waka started to grow more comfortable with the tribes, a group of strange cats flooded into the territory. Golden...butterflies...? She had never heard of that before...they even had the tattoo!! This was..strange, and fellow tribe members were going to spy on them. At first..meh..just a new tribe! The more the merrier right? As time went on, Waka figured out she was oh so wrong. Cats returned to their tribes with horrible scars, some stories of cats not returning at all. These cats...they were...awful!! What would happen if they started coming into the tribes and attacking them?? She tried to push the thought to the back of her head, turning in for bed..although..she couldn't sleep. Multiple restless nights with these images of the Golden Butterflies, torturing these tribe members and possibly even killing them! She couldn't take it anymore, before her tribes rose for the day, she made a run for it. Pure fear of these strange cats drove her out of her new home, and the farther she ran from her Tribe, the deeper black her tattoo became.

She finally came to a stop, her legs numb from her constant running through night and day...she was safe..at least she hoped she was. But...she didn't know where she was..at all. She didn't even think of running back to her family at the time, she feared more for her life rather than retracing her steps. She laid down in the middle of the clearing, her heart thumping a mile a minute as her breathing was fast and throat dry. She was afraid of being on her own, she was sure she would never see the tribes again...nor her family. Rustling came from the bushes all around her, she jumped up and hissed as viciously as she could. She wasn't running again...she didn't have the energy. She was going to fight this time around, she'd go out like a war hero!! As the bushes parted, a small group of cats appeared all around her..with...tattoos!! Not just any tattoos, they were of Shadow, Earth, Fire, Water and Light! All Blacked out variations of their home tribes. They were obviously friendly, and worried for her well being..they invited her to their territory, and asked her to explain her story on the way there.
The group was shocked at the story...golden butterflies? More than one??? How could that even be? Obviously this former Shadow triber needed a home, especially since she had bolted a good amount of area away from the tribes. The group took Waka into their own tribe, and called it ' Love Tribe. ' There was no threat of Golden Butterflies, no tribal wars, only peace between multiple cats of different tribes. A tribe that Waka had dreamed of.

{Other}
- Likes to try and scare others with her tattoo, thinking it will make her look scary..never works.
- Enjoys anything soft, like feathers or rounded stones.
- She has a deformity in her tail, which caused her to gain another tail. ( it's actually split! ) Although...her lower spine is extremely sensitive, and cannot have too much pressure on it without it being painful. She's started to overcome this issue, and has gotten better with her spinal problem.
- She has a pink nose, but it has small black spots on it.
- Her tattoo flickers when she's frustrated, but she cannot use her powers yet.

{RP Example} ( From an Sonic OC RP with coryboy )
" ....Well...Mommy and Spiky wouldn't like that...and I'd never hear the end of it if I do..fuck that I'll just blame the clone. I'll say he ' forced ' me or something..yeah that'll do " She followed slowly, sparks growing bigger as she walked towards the quiet part of the city, athough; something seemed off. There WAS fire..but it didn't feel like man-made flames, it felt like hellfire from deep within th core of hell. How would that exactly get up here without the Youkai from that area getting involved? There was no way they could even get up here without some sort of geyser or opening. She continued padding along the rubble, her tails following her path. She finally caught up, and returned to her small, human-like disguise. " ...So..do you mind telling me how //hellfire// is on the surface world? And not just any hellfire, the fire that fuels the inner core of hell itself???? Because I would..really..like to know that. " Her tone of voice was slightly irritated, but she continued to follow the path of destruction the clone was leaving as she asked multiple questions.
